Solar Input
Current itel Solar product information lists the IPV-3K24U with up to 1,300W PV input, with an MPPT operating range of approximately 30–120V. This makes it suitable for a moderately sized solar array while the inverter simultaneously supplies connected loads and charges the battery.
What Can It Power?
A 3kW inverter provides considerably more capacity than the 1.5kW IPV-1K512U. Typical compatible loads can include:
| Appliance | Typical Load | Suitability |
|---|---|---|
| LED TV | 50–100W | ✅ |
| Decoder | 10–30W | ✅ |
| Wi-Fi Router | 10–20W | ✅ |
| LED Lighting | 50–200W | ✅ |
| Several Fans | 100–300W | ✅ |
| Laptop/PC | 50–250W | ✅ |
| Refrigerator | 100–300W | ✅ |
| Freezer | 150–400W | ✅ |
| Water Pump | 500–1,500W* | ✅ |
| Washing Machine | 400–1,000W* | ✅ |
| Electric Iron | 1,000–2,000W | ⚠️ |
| Electric Kettle | 1,500–2,500W | ⚠️ |
| Air Conditioner | 1,000W+ | ⚠️ |
*Motor-driven appliances have starting surges, so actual suitability depends on the appliance’s startup demand.
Important Battery Requirement
The IPV-3K24U is an inverter, not an all-in-one power station. The battery is purchased separately. It requires a 24V battery bank. For example, a 24V system can be created using two matching 12V batteries connected in series, or a purpose-built 24V lithium battery.
For a 3kW load, the battery side can draw very high current. At approximately 3,000W, a 24V battery system can require roughly 125A or more before accounting for inverter losses. This is one reason correct battery sizing and appropriately rated cables/protection are essential.
IP54 Protection
The IP54 enclosure rating provides protection against dust ingress and water splashes. It is useful for solar installations where some environmental protection is required, but the inverter should still be installed in a dry, ventilated and shaded location, rather than exposed directly to rain.
Main Advantages
⚡ 3,000W Power: Suitable for substantially more appliances than a 1.5kW inverter.
☀️ 1,300W Solar Input: Provides significant solar charging capability.
🔋 24V Battery System: A higher-voltage battery bank than a 12V system helps reduce DC current for a given power level.
〰️ Pure Sine Wave: Appropriate for sensitive electronics and many motor-driven appliances.
💥 6,000W Surge: The manufacturer’s datasheet specifies 6kW surge output for 2 seconds, useful for short startup demands from compressors and motors.
🛡️ Multiple Protections: Includes protection against overload, over-voltage, short circuit, overheating and surges.
